About College
The Shri Shikshayatan College was founded on 8th in the month of july in1955 by Shri. Sitaram Seksaria. It’s a special campus meant for girls under affiliation to the University of Calcutta. It is an six decade old undergraduate women's arts and science college in Kolkata. It has its affiliation with the University of Calcutta. The NAAC committee has accredited this institution with ‘ A’ grade. It is also an approved institution by the UGC. It also offers a Master's degree in English and Commerce. it is governed by Shikshayatan Foundation established by a linguistic minority community,the Marwaris.this foundation was Formerly called as Marwari Balika Vidyalaya Society . This college is solely meant for educational and not for commercial purpose. The Shri Shikshayatan College has emerged out of Shri Shikshayatan School, which was established in 1920.

Why should we join this college?
- Wi-Fi campus: The College is entirely air conditioned and totally WI-Fi enabled. Internet Room is equipped with 14 workstations set using HP,for use by students.
- Library: College has a computerized open access library with a collection of about 38000 books .In addition to it it comprises various journals, magazines and dailies in its account. The library has a centralized air-conditioning amenity. In addition to this central library, each honours department maintains a small seminar library too.
- Facilities: The Old institution provides many modern facilities to its students. The auditorium here can seat more than 200 people at a time. The common gymnasium , yoga room, choreography room helps students to exercise, relax , meditate and practice in a regular manner. All sort of indoor games are available here.
- College has two well equipped computer laboratories comprising 82 workstations , a digital language laboratory with again 15 workstations.A laboratory with 2 Apple Mac-Pro computers for audio-visual editing is available for Journalism and mass communication honors students.
