Who switched to specialized belts for firearms? Are they really that different from regular leather belts? I have been carrying concealed for quite a long time, and to be honest, all this time I used a regular, supposedly "thick" leather belt, which looked normal and seemed to hold the weight. Hi! I was in the same situation and had been looking for a normal belt for a long time that could withstand everyday wear with a holster. Last year I decided to try gun belts for EDC - Nexbelt and chose the Contender EDC option. I ordered it on the website and it is fast and convenient, but the main thing is to read the description. My belt is flexible but durable, the PreciseFit buckle with micro-adjustment is just a godsend. I forgot what the problems with a belt are. I wear it all the time... at the shooting range, in the car, even at home sometimes. If you need a belt that will work, and not just hang beautifully, then I recommend looking at Nexbelt.

You are not the first to ask this question - I also had doubts until I tried it myself. I will say this: there is a difference in sensations and stability, but it all depends on how you wear it and what exactly you need. The same thing will not suit everyone. Personally, I can no longer go back to the "usual" ones.
