Being a state-run university, I would advise most students to consider admission at the University of Kannur. While it may not enjoy the limelight which other private colleges such as VIT and SRM enjoy, it remains a competent institution with a decent engineering program. So if its a tossup between a expensive private college and University of Kannur, choose the latter.
