From my experience, the university gradually helps students become more independent by giving them opportunities to take responsibility outside the classroom. Whether it's leading a student club, organizing events, participating in hackathons, working on group projects, or volunteering for campus activities, you learn how to manage your time, communicate with different people, and solve problems on your own. The Student Council and 50+ clubs give students plenty of chances to take initiative instead of just attending classes. I think that's one of the biggest changes college brings. No one is constantly telling you what to do—you learn to make your own decisions, balance academics with extracurriculars, and take ownership of your goals. Those experiences helped me become much more confident and self-reliant over time.
