Xavier institute of Social Service (XISS) popularly known as XISS is an education institute in Ranchi, India. Institute is as an extension department of St. Xavier's College, Ranchi in 1955. It was established in 1955 with an objective of teaching fresh men and women in Industrial Relations, Rural Development, and Personnel Management. XISS has a sprawling campus spread in 14 acres in the Ranchi.

In 1973 the institute was registered as a discrete educational society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and

Library	Library has over 45000 volumes of books The library subscribes to more than 150 periodicals. XISS library is also equipped with e-library facilities
Computers Lab	The institution has a computer lab with latest software and LAN facility with over 150 terminals along with the necessary hardware support A 10 MBPS Optic fiber leased line connects it to the Internet
Hostel	Institute has a well furnished hostel for boys and girls separately Boys hostel having the accommodation of 175 students Girls hostel having the capacity of 120 students
Auditorium	The Institute has air-conditioned auditorium in its main building. which is extensively used for hosting seminars, cultural and other functions It is well furnished with a seating capacity of 300 persons
Sports	Institute has its own playground and basketball court It also provide the indoor and outdoor games facility
