As a student, I’ve noticed that after the COVID period, Lovely Professional University (LPU) accelerated the integration of AI, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and digital technologies across multiple academic programs. The university expanded technology-focused learning opportunities, encouraged online and blended learning methods, and introduced additional industry-relevant content to meet changing workforce demands. As a result, students have gained greater exposure to modern tools, practical applications, and technology-driven problem-solving. This has helped many students improve their technical competencies, participate in innovation-based projects, and prepare for careers in emerging technology sectors where AI and machine learning skills are increasingly valued.
As a student at Lovely Professional University (LPU), I can say that international exposure is one of the areas where the university puts significant effort. Students get opportunities through international collaborations, student exchange initiatives, global immersion programs, guest lectures by international experts, and interactions with students from different countries studying on campus. The multicultural environment itself is a learning experience because students interact with peers from diverse backgrounds and cultures. This exposure helps improve communication skills, global awareness, adaptability, and confidence, which are valuable qualities for students planning to work in international or multinational environments.
Lovely Professional University has significantly evolved its approach to integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into its curriculum since the COVID-19 pandemic, mainly by accelerating digital adoption and strengthening industry alignment. During the pandemic, the university rapidly shifted to online and hybrid learning models, which led to the increased use of virtual labs, coding platforms, and global learning resources. After COVID, these practices were not only retained but enhanced, making technology-driven learning a core part of the academic structure. LPU expanded AI and ML integration beyond specialized programs into mainstream engineering branches, promoting an interdisciplinary approach. Students from computer science, mechanical, civil, and electronics streams now gain exposure to data analytics, automation, and intelligent systems. The curriculum has also become more skill-focused, with greater emphasis on hands-on projects, hackathons, and real-world problem solving. Collaborations with industry partners have increased, leading to co-designed courses and certifications that match current job market needs. This evolution has had a clear impact on student outcomes. Students are graduating with stronger technical portfolios, including practical projects, internships, and industry-recognized certifications. Their problem-solving abilities, coding proficiency, and familiarity with real-world tools have improved significantly. As a result, employability in emerging roles such as data analyst, AI engineer, and machine learning specialist has increased. Additionally, students are more confident in participating in competitions, research, and startup initiatives. Overall, LPU’s post-COVID transformation has made its engineering graduates more industry-ready, adaptable, and aligned with the growing demand for AI and ML skills.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Lovely Professional University (LPU) has strengthened its integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) into its curriculum by introducing specialized programs like B.Tech in AI and ML and work-integrated courses in AI and data engineering. These programs emphasize hands-on learning, real-world projects, industry internships, and collaborations with platforms like upGrad. As a result, students have gained advanced skills, improved employability, and greater industry readiness, enabling them to meet the demands of the fast-evolving tech job market effectively.
