How do you evaluate whether a site is trustworthy? ?

I’ve been thinking about this after stumbling onto a random site someone mentioned in a group chat. It looked normal at first, but then a couple of design choices and missing info made me second-guess whether it was safe to use. I’m not super paranoid about the internet, but I’ve also had my data leaked once before, so now I hesitate whenever something feels even slightly off. How do you all usually figure out whether a site can be trusted?
