About College

Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College (SAKEC), Mumbai is an engineering college in Mumbai affiliated under University Of Mumbai. Mahavir Education Trust was established in the year 1983 with the main purpose of promoting technical education. With the help of generous donations of two main donors viz., Shrimati Laxmiben Karamshibhai Shah Trust and Shah Lalji Velji Anchorwala, a polytechnic under the name of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Polytechnic was started in the year 1983. The trust was lucky to have the inauguration of the Polytechnic done at the hands of Shri Vasantdada Patil, the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra State.
Further, it was felt that University level education was also the need of the society. Hence Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College was started in 1985.

• The college holds the distinction of being awarded with A Grade by Directorate of Technical Education DTE, Maharashtra.
• The college is ISO 9001:2000 certified institutions and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

 Placements:-

For the Academic Year 2012-2013 91.96% of the eligible students were placed in the companies shown below before their graduation.

Co- Curricular Activities:-

• IEEE SAKEC: Institute of Electricals and Electronics Engineers is a leading professional association of more than 4,50,000 members across 150 countries.
• ISTE SAKEC: The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is an Indian, national, professional and non-profit making society. It strives for the development of the quality of technical education all over India in order to encourage the overall technological progress of the country.
• CSI SAKEC: CSI-SAKEC was formed in the year 2007 and from then has only grown and lived upto its motto of "BUILDING TECHNICAL SKILLS PROFESSIONALLY."

      Extra Curricular Activities:-

• SAKEC Marathon: SAKEC Marathon is a event which marks the beginning of Annual Symposium. Every year more than 600 students run along the streets of Chembur and spread the social message. It was started as celebration of 25th Anniversary of college in 2010 and then onwards it has always been bigger and bigger.
• Verve: Verve is the Annual Cultural Festival of our college. It consists of various Inter-college events like Harmonix (Rock-band competition), Nrityanjali (Dance Competition) and Bioscope (Short-film making competition
• Olympus:  Olympus is Annual Sports Festival of our college.It consists of various Inter-college and Intra-college indoor/outdoor games such as Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Throw ball, Carrom, Chess, Badminton, Dodge ball, Tug-of-war and many more. Our college has both individual and team achievements at intercollegiate level Sports such as Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball and Carrom.

Alumni:-

• Sampark: Sampark is our annual alumni meet. The passed out SAKECeans meet once a year in the month of December and commemorate the golden moments they had spent in their almamater.
