About College

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Hyderabad was established in the year 1982. The university is established by an Act of Andhra Pradesh State Legislature (APOU Act, 1982), subsequently, the University was renamed as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University in 1991 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

From November, 1999 the University started Telecast of Video lessons through Doordarshan Regional Channel. On Sundays the University has Interactive Teleconferencing on the Regional Channel of Doordarshan.
