IISWBM, Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, Kolkata is one of the premier institutes in India for management studies, established on 25 April 1953. The institute was created by a resolution of the Syndicate of University of Calcutta. The University was itself founded by an Act of the Legislative Council (Act No II of 1857) of the then British India on 24 January 1857. Located in the historic College Square area, this esteemed institute celebrated its Diamond Jubileeon April 25, 2012 when it completed its 60th year. The Institute presently has about 1200 students out of which over one-third are women.

  • Energy club: imparts a momentum to the process of Energy Management and Energy Awareness Program in the country
  • Finvestec: the finance club of IISWBM

Hostels: The institute provides the following accommodations separately for girls and boys:

Girls Hostel

  • 11,000 sqft hostel, inaugurated on 6 August 2012 can  accommodate 42 girl students
  • Fully furnished rooms with attached bathrooms (2 seaters and 3 seaters)
  • Canteen Facility
  • Kitchen

Boys Hostel

  • The Boys hostel-Prantik, attached to the Academic block is currently under renovation
  • 3rd hostel only for Boys currently available on a rented facility from NITTTR within the NITTTR campus, Government of India at Salt Lake
  • This rented facility houses 50 boarders

IISWBM Central Library: IISWBM Central Library was started in 1953 in order to provide students with ample resources for academics and research. The library has a robust collection of over-
