Birla Institute of Technology & Science (shortened BITS or Bits Pilani) can be characterised as an Indian institute of higher education. Moreover, the deemed university has 15 academic departments, and offers a majestic educational ambience.
The institution offers education in several disciplines of engineering and sciences along with a highly superior Management Programme. It has established a foothold as one of the best private engineering institutes in the country. Further, it is also renowned as a Top Notch B-school of the country. An international centre of the institution is present in Dubai too.
Inaugurated in the year 1964, the institute has evolved from a regional engineering college to a national level university. However, Mr. G.D. Birla played an instrumental role in the development of the university.
